Adopt a Shelter Pet Day Success

Everyday, shelter pets await adoption, but Adopt a Shelter Pet Day is a BIG day for shelters across

What a weekend for adoptions!

Every adoption is cause for celebration: an animal gets a fur-ever home, and another life can be saved. This weekend, though, the HSEP has had a few extra special adoptions!

Lil' Missy finds what she's been missin'

Lil' Missy is a fantastic kitty-cat with sapphire eyes and a fiery personality. She spent months at the Humane Society of El Paso, awaiting a family that would fall in love with her sassy, and not just her looks. Fortunately, that right family finally came along!

Kongratulations Kai!

Kai was one of the Humane Society of El Paso's favorite rescues EVER! While he brought joy to everyone, staff and volunteers desperately wanted him to find his fur-ever home. Thankfully, he was just what one family was looking for!

Double adoption; Double love

Snow and CJ are two loving felines, who love nothing as much as they love each other. They are brother and sister, and have been together since they were born! They spent their days at the HSEP playing, grooming each other, and waiting for someone who was willing to take them both in. Fortunately, that's exactly what they got!

Jett's Jubilation

Jett was very fearful when he arrived at the HSEP, and clearly needed an extra special person to make him feel comfortable and safe. Little did he know, he would end up with two loving parents, who are no strangers to rescue dogs!

Shiloh finds Motivation

Shiloh the Shelter Dog is enjoying her new role, but the responsibility is a big one. To help keep herself motivated, Shiloh asked her friends on Facebook to share stories of their rescued fur-babies. Shiloh was overjoyed by the response, and is eager to help make more ha=paw-ly ever afters come true!

Guinness Gonzo gets a Purrfect Home!

Guinness is a spunky, independent cat who was surrendered to the Humane Society of El Paso on Halloween. Guinness quickly became a well known cat around the shelter, thanks to his one-of-a-kind personality. The HSEP is ecstatic to share that Guinness has found a human just as special as he his!

One fish, two fish, white and deaf Fish

Every so often, a very special pup arrives at the Humane Society of El Paso, and it takes an extra special family to see beyond that pup's special needs. The following is an email from Eva, one particularly special adopter, who found what her heart and her family were missing.

Serendipity strikes the shelter

Star was at the Humane Society of El Paso longer than most other dogs. She quickly became a staff and volunteer favorite due to her loving nature and playful spirit. Star loved every person that she met, but she was very choosy when it came to her canine playmates. For that reason, Star was routinely overlooked by potential adopters. To make matters worse, she is a black Pit Bull, and dogs like her statistically spend more time in shelters than most.
