Court-Mandated Program

The Humane Society of El Paso offers the opportunity for those with court-mandated community service to complete their hours at the shelter.

Volunteers must schedule themselves between Tuesday through Saturday from the hours of 8-11 am or 11-2 pm; must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advanced. 

C.S. volunteers will be limited to maintenance duties such as lawn mowing, washing windows, kennel scrubbing, and other duties assigned by Maintenance Manager. If you wish to continue your volunteer career at HSEP after completing court mandated hours, you will be able to begin trainings to become an Animal Handler and Adoption Counselor.

  • Must be 18 years & up
  • Court documentation of offense 
  • Number of hours that must be completed 
  • Deadline for completion 

Community Service Court-Mandated Volunteer Application

Our program will not accept volunteers with any animal abuse/ neglect, violent crimes against people or animals, theft fraud or certain drug charges.  


If your application is accepted you will receive an email to schedule your orientation, all volunteers must attend and pay the orientation fee before they are able to begin volunteering.
